An important part of our working philosophy is to act in a manner that is both environmentally and socially responsible, in order to find ways to give back to the areas in which we operate in Yemen. Developing and maintaining relationships with Yemeni Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) and other local organizations is an effective way of pursuing this goal. Socotra Tours is currently involved with several organizations that conduct excellent work in their respective fields. We are a strong supporter of the local Ecotourism Society and strongly support their contribution to the tourism industry in Yemen. Promoting responsible tourism by means of benefiting local economies and development projects, we see the use of ecotourism as a tool for conservation and sustainable development for our country. Our staff
We are a team of young but experiences tour professionals and marketing managers. The field-staff is composed of specialized workers in the field of international tourism with 100 professional drivers and 50 tour guides. Our philosophy puts great emphasis on creativity combined with an unusually extensive experience of the country. Our friendly guides and drivers are more than happy to share their knowledge of their country with all its diversity of cultural and historical backgrounds. Our guides are all carefully selected with regards to their social abilities and their knowledge of Yemeni culture, history, customs and traditions. They speak various different languages fluently (English, German, French, Italian, Russian and Spanish) and are deployed according to the desires and needs of our clients. Our tour guides are expected to have years of experience and reveal high knowledge in connection to their traveling destinations in Yemen. Our staff forms a dedicated team linking client objectives with appropriate communication strategies and key tactical skills. Through many years of experience in organizing tours for tourists we believe that we are more than able to satisfy the needs and expectations of our clients. EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
We strongly recommend the purchasing of international travel insurance prior to your trip. Make sure it covers international air transport. In cases of emergency we will do everything in our power to provide a quick and safe transport to Sana’a or the nearest hospital, depending on the type of injury or illness, the physical ability for transport of the individual and the distance from Sana’a. The form of transport can be in form of vehicles and in extreme cases by military resources (e.g. helicopter). In emergency cases we will contact the appropriate embassy and authorities. We do not take financial responsibilities for organization of transport out of Yemen or for treatment in hospitals.
